¡Mercado de Frida!
The Latino Center of Art & Culture is pleased to announce The 7th Annual ¡Mercado de Frida! on Sunday, June 27, 2021.
This popular free event is a day to honor the legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and celebrate not only her work but also her iconic status for female empowerment. The location for the event is the tree-laden LCAC grounds at 2700 Front Street, just south of Broadway. (Free parking available)
As the pandemic condition has begun to improve in Sacramento, the LCAC would like to provide a Mercado to 30 local artisan and food vendors. Area artisans and craft vendors will set the ambiance for this year's Mercado de Frida. There will also be authentic Mexican food and drink, beer and wine and delicious traditional Jarritos served in a clay pot glass.
The hugely popular centerpiece activity of the event is the look-a-like Frida Parade; this year with LCAC Board Member Beatriz Navarro as our emcee.
Featured in this daytime event will be a solo performance by Ashwut Rodriguez, a Sacramento area-based guitarist with over 30 years of experience writing, recording, and performing music. He's played throughout the US, as well as toured overseas. He's worked with members of Sapo, Malo, Parliament-Funkadelic, and artists Della Reese and Ishmael Reed.
We will have 2 guests, DJs, on-site to start
