Movember: Men’s Health Awareness Talk at Greenhill Library
November is Men’s Health Awareness Month, also known as Movember — a time to shine a light on the issues that affect men’s health and wellbeing.
On average, men die 4.5 years earlier than women, and too often the causes are preventable. Prostate cancer is now one of the fastest-rising cancers worldwide, while testicular cancer remains the most common cancer in young men. And with men accounting for nearly 70% of suicides globally, there’s never been a more important time to start talking openly about health.
Join us at Greenhill Library for a free information session led by a local healthcare professional, offering practical advice, support, and the chance to ask questions in a relaxed setting.
The session will cover:
• What the Movember campaign is all about
• Key men’s health issues and how to spot early signs
• Mental health – depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention
• Prostate and testicular cancer – what to know and when to check
• The benefits of physical activity for long-term health
• Q&A
Everyone is welcome – whether you’re coming for yourself, a friend, or a family member.
