Empowering girls and their caregivers to be resilient, ready, and strong, we'll be fostering social and emotional confidence through hands-on activities. When you use the skills taught in Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), you are the first line of support for a child or youth in need. You are there to help them feel less distressed and be a vital resource in helping them seek further assistance. You can also be an advocate, empower your community, and improve self-care.
Given the importance of mental wellbeing in our lives and the prevalence of mental health and substance abuse challenges in youth today, we are now offering a Youth Mental Health First Aid certification course. This is a blended-learning course that consists of a two-hour, self-paced online course and a five-hour, in person training with two instructors. It is taught by certified instructors and uses a nationally recognized curriculum developed by the National Council for Behavioral Health and Mental Health First Aid to teach adults how to respond and assist with youth aged 12-18. Participants who complete this course in full will receive a three-year certification through Mental Health First Aid.
Online learning assignments must be completed in full before attending the in person session with no exceptions.
This course is valued at $170!!
