About this Event
According to NAMI, one in five U. S. adults experience mental illness each year, and the American Psychiatry Association reports that stigma and discrimination can contribute to worsening symptoms and reduced likelihood of getting treatment for people living with mental illness.
How can we talk more openly about mental health? What can we do to ensure access to quality mental health care for all WNC residents? What actions are local nonprofits taking to address these issues? What can we do to expand access? What actions are local nonprofits taking to address these issues? What can we do to expand access? Special guests Meredith Switzer from All Souls Counseling Center and Robin Payne from NAMI Western Carolina will share learnings and experiences from their 2023 Women for Women grants, and their broader work.
