According to the National Institute for Mental Health (NIMH), 1 in 5 US adults live with a mental illness.
Do mental health issues affect the workplace? Yes, they absolutely do. They can affect employee productivity, absenteeism, turnover and cost. So addressing mental health in the workplace can be beneficial to both employees andn the business.
Join us on October 9th at the Wytheville Meeting Center from 9am - 3pm for Mental Health First Aid Training for Businesses. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based, early-intervention course that teaches participants about mental health and substance use challenges.
The course covers:
- Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.
- Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.
- How to interact with a person in crisis.
- How to connect a person with help.
- Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care.
There is no fee to participate. Lunch will be provided.
Training type: Blended – Learners complete a 2-hour, self-paced online course, and participate in a 4.5- to 5.5-hour in-person, Instructor-led training.
