Course: Mental Health First Aid England
The Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA) course delivers to individuals the tools they need to recognise the symptoms of mental ill health, provide initial help, guide a person towards appropriate professional help, and be mindful of their own wellbeing. During both training days you will have ample opportunities to practice having conversations about mental health and signposting for support so it then becomes easier to do it in your everyday settings.
This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider ®, allowing you to;
- Recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention
- Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other support avenues
- Practise active listening and empathy
- Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma
- Know how to use the MHFAider Support App®
Everyone who completes the course gets:
- A hard copy workbook to support their learning throughout the course
- A wallet-sized reference card with the Mental Health First Aid action plan
- A digital MHFAider® certificate
- Access to the new MHFAider Support App® for three years
Learning:
Learning takes place in person at Doncaster Mind office in city centre (Market Square).
Training is delivered through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. The number of delegates is limited to 14 to maximise the learning experience and to ensure the instructor can keep delegates safe and supported while they learn.

Entry Requirements:
All participants must be aged over 18 years.
