About this Event

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults.

This free 6-hour training gives adults the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to others who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

WHAT IT COVERS

  • Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.
  • Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.
  • How to interact with a person in crisis.
  • How to connect a person with help.
  • Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care.

2 hours of online self-paced prework must be completed prior to the class.
