About this Event
Mental Health First Aid at Work
Join us for a special event at Nulty Insurance where a certified trainer from The Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan (be nice.org) will be discussing the importance of mental health first aid in the workplace.
This certification course is an 8-hour intensive training that teaches a 5-step action plan to help someone who is in the early stages of developing a mental health problem or crisis. Don't miss this opportunity to make a positive impact on your workplace!
What is Adult Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial assistance and support to an individual who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
After the course, you will be able to:
- Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges
- Recognize common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges
- Understand how to interact with a person in crisis
- Know how to connect a person with help
- Use self-care tools and techniques
Training Expectations:
This class takes place in-person at Nulty Insurance (5579 Stadium Dr, Kalamazoo, MI 49009).
Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
