The program is designed for members of the public to learn how to assist someone who is developing a mental health crisis, introduction to the concept of MHFA, the impact of Mental Health issues and an overview of the principles and practice of Mental Health First Aid Aotearoa.

This two–day Mental Health First Aid training program is evidence-based, evidence-informed, internationally researched, and can be found in 24 countries around the world.

The program is designed for members of the public to learn how to assist someone who is developing a mental health crisis, an introduction to the concept of MHFA, the impact of Mental Health issues, and an overview of the principles and practice of Mental Health First Aid.

Much of this Mental Health First Aid training course will focus on the identification of individuals at risk or in a crisis, and effective short, medium, and long-term intervention methods.

This two-day Mental Health First Aid training course will be delivered through a mixture of interactive PowerPoint presentations, group and individual exercises, Q&A and sharing of knowledge or experiences where appropriate.
