Upon successful completion of all portions of the class you will be provided a certificate of completion from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. The adult Mental Health First Aid course is appropriate for anyone age 18 and older who wants to learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health related crisis or problem. Mental illness is common and impacts 1 in 5 adults in any given year. Some of the topics can be difficult for some students and we ask all attending to be sensitive and supportive of those who may have had loved ones close to them or may have a present or past history themselves. In addition, the class is a safe space and we expect all participating to keep anything that may be mentioned about staff or student personal experiences confidential.
This class requires that you have access to the internet and be able to navigate computer software systems. After registering you will be sent an invite to join MFHA connect. Once you accept that invitation you will be enrolled in the course date you have selected. You will then need to complete a pre-test and a few brief online modules. After the class room portion you would then complete a post test, short final exam and evaluate your instructors. Once all items are successfully completed you will be issued your certificate of completion on MHFA connect.
