We want to hear what people with learning disabilities think about: choosing to have sex or be in a relationship & choosing to have a babyAbout this Event
Swept Under the Carpet
Let’s talk about sex, relationships & having babies
People with learning disabilities have the right to choose whether they would like to:
- Have sex or be in a relationship
- Have a baby or not have a baby
But people with learning disabilities don’t always get the right help and support to make these choices.
And often, these important topics don’t get talked about enough — they’re swept under the carpet.
Swept Under the Carpet is a research project working with Inclusion North, the University of Essex, the University of East Anglia and the University of Lancaster.
We’re running focus groups and or 1:1 interviews to talk about:
- Sex and relationships
- Having babies
- What support people need to make their own choices
We’re looking to speak to people who:
- See themselves as a person with a learning disability, and
- Are in a relationship, having sex, or would like to be in the future, and/or
- Have been pregnant or had a baby
Refreshments will be provided
