About this Event

Have you struggled to find guidance and information around the menopause? If you live, work, or play in Birmingham, Solihull or Warwickshire we'd like to support you.

BVSC (Birmingham Voluntary Service Council), DRC (Disability Resource Centre), and Salus Fatigue Foundation have formed a Partnership to develop services to support people who are affected by menopausal health issues to remain in or return to the workforce.

This face-to-face event at Birmingham Business Park comprises two workshops followed by a healthy lunch. We will also briefly share information about the other FREE services DRC and Salus offer as part of the wider Project.

The first workshop - Menopause Awareness in and out of the Workplace will be delivered by experienced menopause activist Aline Boblin of Menopause Knowledge CIC. https://menopauseknowledge.org/

The second workshop - Menopause and the Law will be delivered by employment law trainer Jacqueline Chantler of Worknest. https://worknest.com/

A free lunch will be catered by RJS catering with guidance from Salus Fatigue Foundation to demonstrate how healthy food can also be tasty.

Come to the session where you will have the opportunity to interact as individuals or employers. The session is open to everyone who has experience of the menopause either personally, supporting someone else, or through a role at work.

As the Project is funded through the government we will also use this engagement to influence and inform policy, and create future change in menopausal health support across Birmingham, Solihull and Warwickshire, and ultimately affect national support.

The Project is funded until 2025 by the The Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Health and Wellbeing Fund - a joint initiative run by the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and the UK Health Security Agency. The theme of the fund for 2022 to 2025 is women’s reproductive wellbeing in the workplace and links in with the development of the new Women’s Health Strategy.
