Welcome to an exciting adventure at Menominee Park Zoo’s Kids Camps! Immerse your child in the wonders of the natural world through our engaging, educational programs that foster a love for wildlife and conservation. Our camps offer young explorers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, discover fascinating animal habitats, and engage in hands-on activities that spark curiosity and creativity. With experienced educators guiding the way, your child will embark on a journey of discovery, making friends and memories that will last a lifetime. Ages 5-6: June 8th - July 13th (Mondays)
Ages 7-8: July 20th - August 24th (Mondays)
The fee is $25 per session, and you can register for as many or as few as desired. Registration begins May 1st, 2026, and includes a draw-string backpack, t-shirt, water bottle, and snack.
Class 1 – Zoo Tour & Enrichment: After a complete zoo tour, campers will learn about the importance of animal enrichment. Guided by our zoo staff, children will create their own enrichment for our animals and watch them explore and enjoy it. This will be a perfect mix of learning, crafting, and up-close animal fun!
Class 2 – Husbandry: Kids will step into the shoes of a zookeeper and learn about animal husbandry, the daily care and wellness routines that keep our animals happy and healthy. Campers will get behind-the-scenes insights into feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animal behaviors.
Class 3 – Meet & Greets, Story Time + Craft: Kids will get to meet some of our amazing animal ambassadors up close! Campers will then hear an animal-themed read-aloud and get inspired to unleash their creativity in a related craft activity.
Class 4 – Diets: Have you ever wondered what it is like to feed a zoo full of animals? Campers will learn how zookeepers create balanced meals for animals big and small, from leafy greens for tortoises to specialized carnivore meals for our wolves. Through hands-on activities, they will prepare animal meals and discover how diets vary by species.
Class 5 – Amazing Animal Adaptations: Through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations, campers will learn about the unique adaptations our zoo animals have that help them to survive in their environments.
Class 6 – Plant and Animal Tracks: Join us for a fun-filled zoo adventure where kids become track detectives! Campers will explore the zoo looking for plant and animal footprints, learn how to identify them, and discover the stories they tell about wildlife. Kids will also make their own prints, play nature-themed games, and take part in hands-on activities that help them to see the zoo in a whole new way!
