📍 Space2b Social Design 144 Chapel St St Kilda
Winter has arrived and as you unearth your cosy knitwear, why not come and discover some new sewing techniques to mend those pesky holes in your jumpers, brighten up a cuff on a cardigan, or even felt a patch onto an old blanket.
Come along to a fun and relaxing workshop; learn the art of visible mending with talented Japanese artisan sewer Maoko Carroll.
You will learn the history of visible mending and some repair techniques specific for knitted wares, including stitch and needle felting.
Allow Maoko to show you how to embrace the flaws and see the true beauty through stitch, repurposing and reusing.
Bring along a much loved woollen item in need of repair and Maoko will show you how to carefully and beautifully mend it. Take some time for yourself to sit, share stories, sew and learn together.
Learn how to give your old knits a second life.
