About this Event
This is a free event to help people learn how to fix their own clothes. Local menders will be on hand to help brainstorm the best way to fix damaged garments and also to teach techniques. We don't have the bandwidth to alter or mend garments for participants -- though we can recommend local tailors and professional menders if that's something you're interested in. We are just hobbyists who want to help other people learn a new skill.
All mending tools will be provided (needles, thread, yarn, fabric scraps, etc) -- though if you want to bring your own stuff, you can. The event is hosted by Prairie Underground, Georgetown's small-batch, slow fashion design house.
These events will take place once a month throughout the year. Unfortunately due to staffing limitations, we can only accommodate a limited number of participants for each session.
Reserve your spot early -- and if you're going to cancel, please do so ahead of time so others have the opportunity to sign up!
