About this Event
This is a free event with the single purpose of providing people with tools and guidance to fix their clothes. Local mender Ravenna Koenig will be on hand to help people brainstorm the best way to fix their damaged garmet, offer advice and tips, and will also provide mending tools (needles, thread, fabric scraps, etc). You don't need to bring anything but your damaged garment, though if you want to bring your own tools, you're welcome to! The event is hosted by Prairie Underground, Georgetown's small-batch, slow fashion design house.
These events will take place on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Unfortunately due to staffing limitations, we can only accomodate 12 participants for each session. Reserve your spot early -- and if you're going to cancel, please do it ahead of time so others have the opportunity to sign up!
If you want to get the most out of the session, take a look at this Life Kit episode first: https://www.npr.org/2023/05/22/1177552573/extend-the-life-of-your-clothes-with-visible-mending
