Mending 101: Learning a Darning Loom

Do you have holey socks? A little tear in your favorite sweater? Come to Mending 101 and learn the basics of using a darning loom! This class is taught by local artist and maker Emily Eklof. All necessary tools and supplies will be provided - just bring a garment or two you'd like to mend. Keep in mind that darning works best on socks or garments with a slightly larger weave (sweaters, cardigans) but it can be done on other fabric as well. Choosing a fabric without a lot of stretch to it will be easiest to work with. The class should provide enough time for you to repair a small hole (a hole around 1.5in x 1.5in or smaller is recommended) from start to finish so that you can ask any questions or get help at any step through the process. Absolute beginners are welcome and encouraged!
