Do you have holey socks? A little tear in your favorite sweater? Come to Mending 101 and learn the basics of using a darning loom! This class is taught by local artist and maker Emily Eklof. All necessary tools and supplies will be provided - just bring a garment or two you'd like to mend. Keep in mind that darning works best on socks or garments with a slightly larger weave (sweaters, cardigans) but it can be done on other fabric as well. Choosing a fabric without a lot of stretch to it will be easiest to work with. The class should provide enough time for you to repair a small hole (a hole around 1.5in x 1.5in or smaller is recommended) from start to finish so that you can ask any questions or get help at any step through the process.
