About this Event

On July 24, 2022, Trinity United Methodist Church is presenting an abridged performance of Mendelssohn's "Elijah" with Margaret Ozaki Graves (soprano), Jennifer Beatty (mezzo-soprano), John Murray (tenor), and Jerome Síbulo (baritone), with Trinity's Chancel Choir and other members of the Denver Metro choral community led by conductor Sheila Meléndez. The concert will be accompanied by Norman Sutphin on Trinity's Roosevelt Opus No. 380, one of the largest Roosevelt-built organs of the 19th Century still in operation.

Mendelssohn's celebrated oratorio "Elijah" (premiered in 1846) depicts several events in the Prophet Elijah's life. Enjoy this beautiful musical retelling of Elijah's story, four days after the feast day of Elijah, in Trinity's modern Gothic architecture (1888), with the Sunday afternoon sunlight beaming through the church's stained glass artwork.

This is a one-time performance on July 24, 2022 at 2pm. Advanced tickets are $15 each through Eventbrite, and tickets will be sold at the door for $20. Students (valid student ID needed) can purchase student tickets for $10 at the door. Tickets purchases at the door can be made with a credit card or with cash. There will also be an opportunity to give a free-will offering at the event to support Trinity UMC's programming.
