Memories at the Museum - San Diego Museum of Art

In collaboration with the Alzheimer's Association, docents lead a virtual museum tour for people with memory disorders and care partners.
About this Event

Join us on Tuesday, November 5, from 2 to 3 p.m. with the San Diego Museum of Art for a discussion and virtual tour. Docents with the Memories at the Museum program engage people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease and an accompanying family member or friend in discussions about the artwork to stimulate visual and verbal abilities, and to spark memory.

Memories at the Museum alternates among four co-sponsoring museums that are all located in Balboa Park, including the Timken Museum of Art, the San Diego Museum of Art, the Mingei International Museum, and the Museum of Photographic Arts. This event is free of charge to participants.

Virtual tours are held from 2 to 3 p.m. on the first Tuesday of odd-numbered months (January 2, March 5, May 7, July 2, September 3, November 5).

In-person tours will resume in 2024, from 2 to 3 p.m. on the third Thursday of even-numbered months (February 15, April 18, June 20, August 15, October 17, December 19).
