About this Event
*NOW BOOKING Cherry Blossom through Memorial Day tours!* Weekend tours are available by request.
Experience the majesty of Washington DC's memorials and monuments by moonlight! Hear the revolutionary stories that brought about the birth of a nation, and the people who have preserved it, alongside the memorials built decades later.
We will beat the heat (and the crowds) and meet at the Smithsonian Castle at dusk to embark on a walking tour as the sun sets over the Potomac River. Stops include the DC War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, World War II Memorial, the Washington Monument, the White House and the US Capitol Building, all by moonlight!
At each location we will talk about the startling, inspiring, and memorable stories. Including the people, controversies, and historical impact embodied in each memorial, as well as information about the architecture. The memorials will come to life as historical facts are blended with with pop culture, current events, social movements, local knowledge, and even a ghost story or two! You will find that there is secret symbolism, meaning, culture, and poetry in every structure. We will also stop for photo opportunities, questions, and exploration at each location.
*Tours are 2-2.5 hours long depending on group size.
