A memorial tribute to jazz vocalist and educator, Jay Clayton. Performances and words of appreciation will be shared by close friends, family and mentees. Jay was a remarkable human being, an educator and a legendary performer who hung with fellow musicians of the highest levels (i.e. George Cables, Sheila Jordan, John Cage, Fred Hersch). Jay's stature was acknowledged throughout the music community, and she was loved by many, especially by the community of singers who she guided with a loving touch. Performers/attendees for this event will include Jay's daughter, Dejha Colantuono, Peter Eldridge of the NY Voices, Bella Holtz, Katie Bull, Donna Trunzo, Evita Cobo, Jill Connolly, Bidi Dworkin and others.
