David Boyd Haycock returns to the Ashmolean with a talk about Paul Nash, one of the most important British artists of the first half of the 20th century.
Nash had a long connection with Oxford, and lived in the city from 1939 until his death in 1946. The lecture will focus on Nash’s relationship with Oxford, and coincides with the forthcoming Oxford Festival of the Arts summer exhibition, ‘Land, Sea and Sky: Paul Nash in Oxford,’ at Pembroke College, which includes a number of works on paper from the Ashmolean's collection.
