Join us as we celebrate the work of the Steamrail Volunteers and ride in style onboard the 'Red Rattler' Tait Train.
The Steamrail Board invites members and friends to travel behind our preserved Tait Set from Newport or Flinders Street Station around Melbourne.
Picking up at Newport Station at 10:01am and Flinders Street at 10:20am, we will head to Darling on the Glen Waverley Line.
From there our train will head back to the city before changing directions and heading on an express run to Hurstbridge where we will have half an hour to grab a bite to eat and to use the station facilities.
From Hurstbridge we will run back to Flinders Street with brief stops at Diamond Creek and Eltham before again changing directions to head South East.
A quick express run on the Frankston line will find us at the final destination of our jouney at Mordialloc, where the train will stable and we will have 3 hours to explore the bayside suburb and head for a late lunch.
Departing Mordialloc at 5:53pm the train will return us to Flinders Street and Newport to end our day out onboard the Red Rattlers.

Only Steamrail Volunteers may board or disembark the train at Newport Workshops.
You may board or disembark the train at any stop using your ticket, but the train will not wait for you.
Please ensure you are at the Station 15 minutes before departure and check screens or with staff for the correct platform.
Seating is unreserved, BYO Food and Drink as there will be no kiosk onboard the train.
Please note there are also no toilets onboard this train
Members and Friends travel for $60.00 per ticket. ($30.00 child fare)
Volunteers are offered travel at a reduced rate - contact your department manager or the Steamrail Office.
