Artist Sherry Edmondson will talk about her journey of starting oil painting after years of painting in acrylics. The session will also cover the materials and resources for those wanting to experiment with oil painting.in her words- "Starting out in oils is a journey of discovery, related to my personal experiences. In 2021 I joined a week long oils workshop run by Louise Baalam in Bridport. It was great fun and I came home with the confidence to change from acrylics to oils. I use traditional oils. There are a number of topics to discuss in taking up oils, and covers a number of areas, starting with painting supports, pallets , brushes, thinners, mediums, little tricks ,advice on colour choice and the difference between the various grades of paint and what paint terminology means. Jacksons have been very supportive and supplied me with the second edition of their Materials Guide which includes a very useful section on oils and mediums and other media,

The session is free for Basingstoke Art Club members.
Guests are welcome, £5 payable at the venue.
