About this Event

The Ransom Center Member Tour is an ongoing series where we create an intimate setting for Members to find new, exciting points of entry into our collections.

For this installment, join Pforzheimer Curator Dr. Aaron T. Pratt and explore the early history of European printing in a global context. We’ll think together about the specifics of Gutenberg’s invention—what we know and what we don’t know—and we’ll consider its contributions by way of comparison with East Asian printing methods.

Beginning with light bites and beverages at our Happy Half-Hour, the discussion will then cover the Gutenberg exhibit in the Center’s lobby and a special display of materials in our Denius classroom. Space is limited and advance registration is required.

Happy Half-Hour | 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Tour | 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
