John Okeefe, Ph.D., will join us to introduce the documentary he produced and directed, The Last Prairie, a film about the Nebraska Sandhills, a vast wetland.
The film offers an intimate portrait of the Sandhills, presented through voices of three different communities: ecologists who study the region’s biodiversity; people who live and work there; and Native Lakota people whose ancestors were displaced to make way for American westward expansion.
Dr. Okeefe served more than 30 years on the faculty of Creighton University and as Chairman of the Theology department.
