For this year’s final installment of “Ten Songs (Plus One or Two),” the Bob Dylan Center’s members-only series of in-person and online listening sessions, truth vies with lies in a series of songs that question who and how to believe in our era of deception and duplicity. Center Director Steven Jenkins will lead listeners through a sincerely dishonest playlist featuring Elvis Costello, John Lennon, The Swell Season, Matthew Sweet and Dylan himself, who believes nothing and no one. As he sings with characteristic contradiction in “Things Have Changed,” “All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie.”This event will be offered in-person and virtually via Zoom.
