Encaustic Phototransfer Workshop

Course Description:
Curious about painting with molten wax? Love the layered look of collage? This creative workshop is the perfect introduction to encaustic art!
Learn how to transfer photographs onto a surface of warm, layered wax while incorporating collage techniques for rich, textured results. Under expert guidance, you’ll create two unique works of art: a 4×4″ wood panel and a 5×7″ canvas board. Along the way, you’ll explore the fundamentals of composition, color, texture, and line, bringing your vision to life in wax and mixed media.
Designed for encaustic beginners, this workshop welcomes artists of all levels. Leave with two finished pieces and a brand-new creative skill set!
**Participants are welcome to submit their own photos to create personalized gifts during the workshop. Instructor Mikaela will print the images in advance to have them ready for use on the day of the event. If you’d like to participate, please email your images to [email protected]
Choose from two sessions: 11 AM or 2 PM. Space is limited, so don’t wait to reserve your spot!
*Please note, hot wax can aggravate those with sensitive lungs. A fan will be going in the background to promote ventilation, and masks will be offered to attendees. Not recommended for children younger than 14.
