Recorded at East Nashville’s Bomb Shelter with co-producers Dennis Crouch and Andrija Tokic, the album blends classic country, Western Swing, jazz, blues, R&B, and soul.Raised on a rich musical heritage, Carper developed her distinctive style through early exposure to legends like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and Jimmie Rodgers, as well as jazz greats Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. Her previous albums, Daddy’s Country Gold and Ramblin’ Soul, earned critical acclaim for their nostalgic yet fresh take on roots music.
Borned In Ya expands on her genre-blending artistry, incorporating gospel-infused grooves, honky-tonk energy, and jazz-inspired crooning. Featuring top-tier musicians like Chris Scruggs, Billy Contreras, and Kyshona Armstrong, the album showcases Carper’s timeless, yet innovative sound.
