Interested in antiquarian books, but don't know where to start?

Guided tours of the Melbourne Fair will run several times a day.

Your tour guides will include:

  • Jerelynn Brown, an ANZAAB honorary member, who until recently worked for several decades at the State Library of New South Wales, and has expert knowledge of antiquarian books.
  • Susan Tompkins, an ANZAAB life member, who operated her bookshop "Bibliophile" in Sydney for several decades, and is greatly experienced in the antiquarian book trade.
  • Des Cowley is an ANZAAB honorary member and former Principal Librarian of History of the Book & Arts at State Library Victoria, with several decades of rare book experience and expertise

Tours will be particularly useful to those who would appreciate some guidance while visiting the Fair.

Your tour guides will be able to explain the different areas of book collecting presented by various dealers.

Particular points of interest about the books on display will be highlighted and your guides will be able to answer your questions about the books on display and book collecting generally.

Each tour is limited to 6 participants.
