About this Event

Lead by Melanie Wine Bar’s wine director and locally beloved expert sommelier, Austin Ferrier, Melanie Talks Wine invites wine novices and enthusiasts to explore the history and wine making methods behind unique and familiar wine varietals from around the globe. Each event within the series will feature themed wine talk and tasting experiences that focus on a specific wine varietal such as Orange Wines, Bordeaux, Grenache and more. Continuing its goal to transform the traditional wine culture from one of intimidation to an approachable experience, Melanie Talks Wine will celebrate curiosity amongst guests and encourage conversations about wine, all while pouring tastings over complimenting Cheese and Charcuterie.

Melanie Wine Talks' upcoming schedule is outlined below, with additional bi-weekly classes to be announced soon:

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Saturday, September 24 @ 4:00pm - 5:00pm | Theme: Northwest Spain | $65.00

  • Perhaps most well known for the Galician specialty Albarino, this corner of Spain is sometimes referred to as “Green Spain” as it is wetter and cooler than most of the country.
  • The wines tend to be lighter, fresher, and more delicate. Although Albarino is a well known grape, the region also produces Mencia, a light, peppery red wine, and Godello, a white wine with some of the qualities of Chardonnay, as well as many other interesting wines.

Saturday, October 8 @ 4:00pm - 5:00pm | Theme: Burgundy | $65.00

  • One of the most famous regions for growing wine anywhere in the world, Burgundy is where the world’s finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are grown. This is a place of elegance, prestige, and often luxury, with intimidating names (and often even more intimidating prices).
  • We’ll put together a selection of quality stuff that won’t empty your wallet, and sample several of the different ways these wines can taste.
