The Melanated Growers conference is weekend full of amazing events guaranteed to increase your knowledge of agriculture and expand your community service footprint as we strategize ways to decrease food insecurity in our community through growing.On Friday night, September 20, 2024, at 6 PM, you will enjoy networking with like-minded individuals over good music, cocktails, and good vibrations at our “Buds and Blooms Mixer”. You will meet new friends and mingle with old friends as we kick off the weekend Melanated Growers style at The Justice Pub in beautiful downtown Jacksonville! Wine and champagne is complimentary and included with every ticket purchase. Attire: Elevated Casual.
On Saturday morning, September 21, 2024, at 11 AM, we will convene at the Adam Herbert University Center on the picturesque campus of UNF for a day of learning, hearing from from our DYNAMIC lineup of speakers, and participating in roundtable discussions on hot agricultural topics that affect our communities. During our coffee breaks, you will have the opportunity to visit the Melanated Growers Marketplace where local vendors will showcase their wares and give you the opportunity to support their thriving businesses. Attire: Business Casual.
On Saturday evening, September 21, 2024, at 8 PM. We will return to UNF where the space will have been beautifully transformed for our Botanical Ball. Come dressed to the nines for an evening of dancing to music from a live deejay, community awards, and mingling with all the new people you’ve met at the conference. Tapas will be provided and are included with your ticket purchase. Cocktails, beer, and wine will be available from UNF’s Board of Trustees cash bar. Attire: Black Tie Optional.
On Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 11 AM, meet us on *North Beach for a lite brunch and some fun and sun! Attire: Beach attire in shades of melanin (brown, peach, chocolate, beige, neutral, coffee, toffee, cream—you name it!) and prepare for an afternoon of sun, sand, and sea! Although lite brunch is provided, feel free to bring your own cooler. Don’t forget your towel and beach chairs!
