From DxE’s first open rescue in 2014, saving Mei Hua from a “cage-free” hell, to historic mass open rescues at massive factory farms a few years later, to the boldest animal protection legislation ever on the ballot last year, DxE has spent a decade in Sonoma County pushing the boundaries of what is considered possible in the animal rights movement. We’ve learned so much from testing different strategies and tactics, and from the animals we’ve met along the way and the humans whose hearts they’ve changed. This meetup will look back at our decade of bold activism in Sonoma County and some of the biggest things we’ve learned, as we get ready for the Perdue Rescue Trial starting September 15th in Santa Rosa!Where: Berkeley Animal Rights Center West (2414 6th St, Berkeley)
When: Saturday, September 6th 11am - 12:30pm
What: Community hangout and presentation
- ARC West is a 30 minute walk from North Berkeley BART and only a 10 minute walk from the 51B bus stop at University and 6th St.
- Dogs that like other dogs are welcome at this event!
- There will be plant-based brunch and coffee, donations accepted
