The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom is delivering a day of practical training for providers who offer educational programmes and learning experiences. This workshop aims to support providers to engage effectively with schools.
Workshop: Meeting the needs of teachers and schools – learning outside the classroom

A practical one day workshop looking at what teachers want and what schools need, with a particular emphasis on how providers of LOtC can to support schools at a challenging time. During the session delegates will consider:
The key challenges facing schools and how LOtC can help
The opportunities for LOtC in the national curriculum
How different learning spaces can deliver learning outcomes across all areas of the national curriculum
Creating lesson/activity ideas to deliver specific national curriculum attainment targets across different settings
What motivates teachers when taking children outside the classroom
How best to communicate their offer to schools
How to work with schools to create long term partnerships rather than one off visits
