About this Event
As a gardener and nature lover, Brian believes that a minute spent outside is worth ten spent indoors. On spring days, he enjoys observing wildlife, especially the annual return of the warblers, a thrilling moment best experienced after their arrival but before the trees fully leaf out. However, the majority of Brian’s wildlife-watching time is devoted to insects. Their season is long — virtually endless — and because their habitats are small and abundant, there are countless places to find them. Not only are insects visually captivating, but they are also fascinating to observe as they go about their routines.
On his personal “backyard safaris” across his quarter-acre property, Brian has photographed and identified 952 species so far and counting. In this presentation, he will share some of his favorite images and stories, hoping to spark the same appreciation for these remarkable little creatures in others.
