Come meet The Wonderlands, a Nashville-based touring band that features three School of Rock Mason grads (Jillian Gavigan on keys and vocals, Derek Johnson on drums, and Patrick Oakes on guitar). They will talk about their origins and making music after graduating from School of Rock. We'll get them to perform a song or two as well!Free and open to the public.
Originally from Cincinnati, OH, the now Nashville-based quintet combines the anthemic qualities of pop music with influences from indie rock and jazz. Having just released their third studio album "The Great Escape", the group tries a new take on the electronically-augmented band sound aided by producer Drew Long, and explores themes of disillusion, brevity and family. The band has had the fortune to share the stage with the likes of nationally-acclaimed acts Lawrence, Melt, Ripe and Motherfolk along the way. Come see The Wonderlands on December 27th at the Woodward Theatre!
