Want to meet a fascinating author? Come here to our monthly sessions. This month, Weds August 27, we welcome David Howe. He is Emeritus Professor in the School of Social Work and Psychology at UEA. His research and writing interests span social work theory, adoption, emotional intelligence, attachment theory, and much more. To date, he has written 17 books, many of them best-sellers in their field.
BUT he has also written what we regard as one of the best ever books about the Lake District - Rocks and Rain, Reason and Romance. It is, literally, THE story of the Lakes: England’s most dramatic landscape, from volcanoes and glaciers to centuries of farming, mining, mountain climbing - and poets.
It’s beautifully written, and David is captivated by this area, where he spends a lot of his time, and his passion for our beautiful corner of the world shines through.
We are very pleased to welcome new members here who are from the Cumbria Literary Group, whose conversations and information bring a delightful dimension Facebook.
Please share this with your friends and family. Remember, we start at 7pm, it’s free admission and everyone is welcome.
