Have you ever wanted to chat with our curators about how exhibitions at The New York Historical come together? Now's your chance! Join Wendy Nālani E. Ikemoto and Saray Vazquez in the exhibition Pets and the City and learn what it was like to pull together this visual history of New Yorkers and their animal companions over the last three centuries.
Meet the Curator is a monthly program that invites visitors to engage in casual conversation with members of The New York Historical's curatorial team. Come to chat and ask questions about our current exhibitions and the objects on display.
Wendy Nālani E. Ikemoto, Ph.D., is vice president and chief curator at the New-York Historical Society, where she has curated such exhibitions as Nature, Crisis, Consequence; Monuments: Commemoration and Controversy; Dreaming Together: New-York Historical Society and Asia Society Museum; and the award-winning Scenes of New York City: The Elie and Sarah Hirschfeld Collection.
Saray Vazquez is a curatorial assistant at The New York Historical. She has contributed to exhibitions such as Pets and the City, Lost New York, Enchanting Imagination, and Holiday Express.
