I invite you (and a friend or two!) to come to Little Owl to meet Brandy Harty, candidate for School Board. You can stop in and ask questions, pick up a yard sign or make a donation towards Brandy's campaign. Brandy is Alaska Grown- she is Fairbanks born, Fairbanks educated, and has taught in Fairbanks schools. All things that I think are important in making decisions that affect our schools. She's been in the trenches, she knows what it's like to teach in Alaska.
While an educator in the Fairbanks Northstar Borough School District, I saw the direct impact that our current school board has had on our district, our teachers and our students. Our future school board has some big decisions to make (new Superintendent for one) that will affect the trajectory of our district.
I first met Brandy when her son was in my special education classroom. I always appreciated her support and having her in my corner. If you're trying to decide who to vote for in October, come to Little Owl to meet Brandy and feel free to invite your friends!
