Celebrate two amazing exhibitions on view at the Dixon and Meet the Artists!Mary K VanGieson: Chasing the Ephemeral features eco prints made by layering organic materials, including leaves, plants, and onion skins, between sheets of plain, unmarked Stonehenge paper. VanGieson's unique art-making process involves manipulating the pristine eco prints by combining, tearing, curling, cutting, folding, collaging, and sewing them to create new sculptural artworks.
Interactive Gallery: Fiber Arts features interactive components that celebrate the diversity and creativity of fibers and fiber artists. From weaving and knitting to felting and sewing, visitors of all ages are invited to touch and explore the many ways artists use fiber to tell stories, preserve culture, and experiment with form. See examples of fiber artworks by artists Brittney Boyd Bullock, Patricia Doughty, Sharon Havelka, Lacy Mitcham, Christen Parker, and Mia Saine.
