Meet The Artist nights at Chinkapin Brewing, are bi-monthly, open-to-the public, free events with a chance to meet local artists whose works are represented on Chinkapin’s gallery wall. Come and support local artists while you enjoy our great Georgetown community, wood-fired pizza and wings, and of course, Chinkapin’s locally crafted beer, another awesome art medium! John Olsen of The Wine Project, another Georgetown gem, presents select wines for sale by the glass or bottle, is wonderful and an excellent resource for those who want to learn more and prefer to drink wine. It’s a party for the palate!!!
Chinkapin Brewing is proud to announce the next artist, Karen Cash, for Meet The Artist night to be held on Friday, November 14th from 6-7pm.
My name is Karen Cash! I am one of ten children born and raised in Louisville, Ky. My sister was my inspiration to pursue art, specifically oil on canvas after I retired. I saw something she had painted and wanted to do it too! I have been taking classes for the past seven years from Betty Plymale at Plymale Gallery in Lexington. She is an amazing artist and instructor. Before taking classes I did not have any formal training. I did work in Engineering for years and drew many steels/items used in the die making process. Then everything went to electronics and drawings were done on computers. I am happy that I ventured into the art world. The feeling of starting with a blank canvas and bringing it to life is very gratifying. Hope you enjoy my work!
