Meet the Artist: Street Photographer Izzy Rodriguez

Join the Providence Art Club for an interactive conversation with street photographer and Exhibiting Artist Member Izzy Rodriguez on Wednesday, February 12. Doors will open at 5:30 and attendees are welcome to purchase a cocktail from the Club’s Angell’s Lane Bar prior to Izzy’s talk, which will begin at 6:00pm. Izzy will share images and talk more about the process behind his photographs, which are on view in the solo exhibition This is Providence through February 13.
About Izzy Rodriguez:
Izzy Rodriguez (@itsbaghead) is a Providence-based street photographer whose work captures the candid essence of urban life. Born in Queens, New York, to Dominican immigrants from Bonao, Izzy's heritage and upbringing in vibrant cityscapes deeply influence his artistic vision. His love of comic books and classic cartoons fuels his creativity, inspiring him to find extraordinary moments in the everyday.
Izzy began his journey in photography in 2017, quickly developing a distinctive style that blends storytelling with authenticity. He is known for carrying his camera everywhere, always ready to document the fleeting moments that define city life.
In June 2023, Izzy became an exhibiting artist member of the Providence Art Club, joining a community that inspires him to continue growing his art. His upcoming exhibit, "This Is Providence," showcases his dedication to documenting the city's energy, contradictions, and quiet moments, inviting viewers to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
