Cherie Peters is the Artist-in-Residence at Cunningham Falls State Park through the Catoctin Forest Alliance. She is a sculptor, book artist, and painter who uses natural materials and beeswax (in a method called encaustic) to create beautiful, textured works of art. During her residency, Cherie will demonstrate how she paints with melted wax and shares stories from nature that inspire her work. Families are invited to watch, ask questions, and explore how simple materials from the forest can be transformed into meaningful art. Come discover how creativity and nature go hand in hand! Registration is Free but Cunningham State Park has a $5 entrance fee.
