In addition to mainly working in urban and public spaces, Anna Jensen's and Eliisa Suvanto's curatorial work has focused on natural environments and the potential of protected areas in contexts of art and tourism. They will introduce their award-winning collective and a decade-long series of exhibitions and projects, including a site specific nomadic biennale.
About the curators
Anna Jensen and Eliisa Suvanto are pioneers of collective, site-specific and non-institutional contemporary art in Finland. Together, the curatorial duo have carried out more than 20 public space projects that have addressed issues of resources, social structures, accessibility and exhibiting practices. Suvanto and Jensen are founding and active members of Porin kulttuurisäätö collective. The collective combines artistic, research, production and curatorial work, and in addition to exhibitions, it produces public talks, consultancy, studio visits and political advocacy work.
