---MORE INFO:
ADOLESCO YOUTH EXCHANGE will match you with a student about your own age in France, Germany, Italy, or Spain (your choice), you will decide exactly WHEN (whatever’s best for your schedule), and for HOW LONG (up to 12 weeks) you want to go on exchange and host as part of our flexible and affordable nonprofit language immersion and cultural exchange program for qualifying students between ages 9 and 18.
Please contact us at [email protected] or start your application by submitting the free Pre-Application at www.adolesco.org/pre-application.
We will then send you the Full Application, consisting of 3 documents to be completed, including two questionnaires and a photo-file, as well as additional supporting documents like a school report card, plus three references and an interview.
• Your family will be required to host as well as send you on exchange. You host either before or after your child travels. So, the two candidates that are matched are together in both countries: first in one home and then in the other, sharing their language, culture, and family life with their exchange partner. Our program will not be a good fit for you and your family if you are not ready to host in conditions that you would appreciate for yourself, or if you prefer to go on exchange only without having to host.
• You and your “matched” family will make the final decisions on when to host and when to exchange according to what suits your specific schedule best, and it can include time in the school year and/ or the summer or whatever works for your unique circumstances.
• Once you are matched you will have two summers and the year in-between (so more than a year) to complete hosting and going on exchange if you need that much time. You can: host this summer and go on exchange the next; or the other way around, or – if you don’t need that much time – you can host AND exchange this summer in which-ever order suits you best.
• We are now accepting applications anytime up until our Applications DUE DATE on May 15… BUT the sooner you complete and submit your application the sooner we can match you so you’ll have more time to start planning your #AdolescoAdventure! We might be able to match you off our waiting list of European kids wanting to come to the USA or Canada at any time (we always have more European kids wanting to come to the US and Canada than kids from here ready to go on exchange).
• Our matching announcements after the due date will be in the early summer, with the next application deadline on October 31st.
Looking forward to meeting you and your family very soon.
