Meet Artist Session - Fragments of an unknown space

Prelude to the rebuilding of DECK, 5 Singapore artists excavated the ground and breathed new life into the forgotten, reimagined them for the present and future.

In 2024, DECK invited five artists—Robert Zhao Renhui, Goh Chun Aik, Lewis Choo, Arrvinraj, and Ge Xiaocong—to explore the history of 116 Prinsep Street, the land on which the DECK container art building once stood. Before the building's reconstruction in 2025, the artists were given the opportunity to engage with the site, in alignment with DECK's belief in providing space for artists to imagine and for kindred individuals to gather. The resulting exhibition reflects on the intersection of memory, place, and time, where the unknown is not a void, but a space full of potential waiting to be rediscovered.
