About this Event

Welcome to Meet & Greet: Cooperation Hull!

Come join us at Brew for a relaxed and informal evening of getting to know each other - whilst drinking beer & eating tacos! We'll be there to answer any questions you might have about Cooperation Hull and the work. We'll also be there to talk about our upcoming community projects and to gather ideas on how we can continue to create self-organising communities of solidarity and mutual aid in this city.

Cooperation Hull is a grassroots organisation challenging the neoliberal status quo that has controlled how we live without many of us realising. Thatcher's legacy isn’t dead, unfortunately.

Since 2022 CH has been figuring out how to improve our lives from the ground up here and now whilst laying the groundwork for a long term system change. We are not alone in this struggle - many have come before us and many are beside us now. We will not finish this struggle - many will follow, building on our successes and, of course, correcting our inevitable mistakes.

We put on People's Assemblies in neighbourhoods all over the city to find out what we’re all thinking and feeling, and why. To work through our biggest issues and challenges together, and come up with collective solutions.

What we’re working towards is a revolution. Where local democracy, run by communities, serves our collective lives, engages us in our existence as part of nature & ensures that no one is left behind.It’s not going to happen overnight but it’s a damn good start.
