JAMES BAIRD
Jim currently serves as the Police Chief at the Breckenridge Police Department in Colorado (2018–present), with a department of 30 employees. He has over 25 years of experience with the Ann Arbor Police Department in Michigan, where he served in various roles, ultimately rising to the position of Police Chief.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO LAW ENFORCEMENT?
As a child, I met a Michigan State Police Trooper who was taking a stolen bicycle report from my family. Decided my career that day.
CHRISTOPHER CHAPMOND
Chris currently serves as the Director of Division of Law Enforcement Standards and Training for the State of Arkansas (2023–present) where he oversees 52 employees. He also has over 24 years of experience with the Hot Springs Police Department in Arkansas, where he held various roles and ultimately served as Police Chief. Additionally, he spent two years as Police Chief at the Bluffton Police Department in South Carolina.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in police administration from Columbia Southern University Orange Beach
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO LAW ENFORCEMENT?
My uncle was killed in the line of duty. His sacrifice and the support of the law enforcement community inspired me to pursue this profession.
JEFFREY MARTINEZ
Jeff currently serves as the Police Chief for the Sheridan Police Department in Colorado (2020–present). The Sheridan Police Department consists of 40 employees. He also has 25 years of experience with the Denver Police Department in Colorado, where he served in various roles, ultimately rising to the position of Division Commander.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from University of Phoenix
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO LAW ENFORCEMENT?
I became a police officer to make a positive impact on others, and to change the negative narrative that unfortunately plagued my community.
