Join us for a delicious and fun workshop where you will learn how to bake a traditional Latvian Honey Cake (Meduskūka) from a few simple ingredients found in every pantry!

This cake is a mouth-watering explosion of flavor, making it a perfect treat for any occasion! What a way to impress your family and friends!

This workshop will be hosted by a passionate Brisbane Latvian community member Baiba, who from a young age watched her mum Leontina and grandmother Lidija bake this treat for her birthday adding a layer each year! When Baiba reached her 18th birthday the cake was 18 layers high and deemed to be sufficiently high. She will share her family cake recipe and will guide you through the process of making the layers, the irresistible filling and the process of layering and shaping of the cake. You will also learn helpful tips and tricks for perfectly decorating and presenting this traditional Latvian cake.

Workshop attendees receive a welcome drink and shared platter, the meduskuka recipe, and a slice of meduskuka and coffee/tea.

Can this get even more tastier? Yes it can! See below:

Our fellow Latvian powercouple beekepers Inta and Uģis from Fat Bee Honey will offer a small degustation of their organic honey range and tell us little bit about the powerful properties of honey and honey products. Please bring some cash so you can stock up on delicious local honey and support their small family business!
