This event is a FUN(d)raiser for PATMAD and the musicians and callers volunteer their time.
You've danced contra medleys before, but not like this. At the top of each hour, we'll start contra dancing. The dance will change, the caller will change, the musicians may change, but the dancers keep going! In between, waltz breaks, then more contra. Tired? Drop out at the top or bottom of the set. Ready for more? Grab a partner and join on in!
*** All dances will be called, but there will be no walkthroughs (we'd have to stop dancing for that!). If you've never tried contra dance before, we'd love to have you at a weekly Thursday night dance or monthly Third Saturday, which always feature a beginner lesson and walkthroughs for each dance. Feel comfortable listening to the calls and know what we mean by "better never than late"? Come on out! ***
